Winter light

Winter light on a hen and chicks plant.

As the year winds down, our area is often rather gloomy. Some people call it “the big dark”, which sounds more dramatic than it is. I think of it as “winter light”. When the weak winter sun manages to drift through the clouds the low angle of the winter sunlight creates beauty in the mundane. Yesterday was such a day. Alas, today it is raining again and will likely be a dark one, but…photograph ye roses while ye may…

  1. Yes, the low angle of the sun at this time of year can be excellent for photography – when it’s not hidden by clouds! I love your fading roses in particular 🙂
