Join the One-to-Three Photo Processing Challenge to have some creative fun with photos.
The purpose of the One-to-Three Photo Processing Challenge is to play. These days we have so many different ways to process a photo: from phone apps to Photoshop. And these different software options make it accessible for anyone to get fun and beautiful effects. Whether you have a lot of time or a little.
I’ve been spending a lot of my pandemic playing with photo processing. Because it is a relaxing indoor activity that I can do for free (I mostly use open-source programs and old versions of paid programs). And I thought it might be fun to share what I’ve been doing and see what other folks are trying out.
No complicated rules, just:
- Pick a photo you want to play with.
- Process it using three different methods.
- After that create a blog post with the original and your creative products.
- If you can, please include a description of your methods. So others can give them a whirl.
- Then add a comment below containing the link to you post (pingbacks don’t seem to work, I’m trying to figure out why). So we can all see your creations.
- Check out what other folks are doing for new ideas.
I can hardly wait to see what you create.
November creations:
Here’s my one-to-three contribution for this month:
Directions for my methods:
This month I used presets.
- The illustration effect filter is in the G’MIC set of filters for the GIMP, in the Artistic set of filters.
- This is the Dream Smoothing filter in the G’mic plug-in for the GIMP. Dream Smoothing is found the the Artistic set of filters.
- For this one I used the Topaz Studio 2 look called “Watercolor 2” it’s in the Atristic set of looks.

Very pretty floral applications on this month. I like the way the watercolors blend in the photo.
Thank you.
Hi Kate, here’s my entry for processing: https://lifessights.wordpress.com/2021/12/11/potpourri-of-possibilities-photo-3-ways/

With the G’mic effect filter the photo looks almost 3D. My favourite is the Topaz watercolour 2 filter, the soft focus makes for a very romantic setting, perfect for these late roses. I’ve got some decay at the start this month: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2021/12/15/diana-falling-apart/
I like using Topaz Studio! Here are some variations of my favourite moon photos: https://amusives.wordpress.com/2021/12/06/many-moons-ago/
